Are there any websites that sell TV's, Blue Ray Players, PVR boxes online?

Basically, my question is: Is it better and possible to buy on-line or is retail still the better way to go when it comes to electronics? Everything on-line is always a little less expensive.

If you know exactly what you're looking for, then online is the way to go. Keep in mind shipping costs though. I wouldn't recommend an online store that doesn't have a retail store if it's a product that might need servicing (e.g., a computer).

Ask yourself what you will do if the product breaks. Unless the online store has a really good return policy, it means you'll potentially be paying shipping just to have it fixed, plus the wait time for mailing.

I buy lots of stuff online. Just not expensive or technical stuff that I might need servicing for.

Are there any websites that sell electronics? Dude, where have you been hiding? the outback?

that's like asking if there is any sites online that show...umm....errr...ahhh...nude pictures of umm WOMEN...lol.

Bestbuy, futureshop, the source, NCIX, tiger direct etc all have sites.

Go to www.redflagdeals.com for any info on online stores or ??

Just for the record however don't expect that big of a difference on big ticket items online vs retail. There isn't that big of a mark up on LCD and Plasma tvs.

Now smaller items ? there could be but for computer prices etc, Canada Computers retail prices are the same as NCIX's on many items.....and most who have a retail as well as online store the prices are the same.

If you know exactly what you want, you could also try ebay.

As Keeb said about shipping: if you buy from the US figure on customs and duty as well as no warranty on items bought there and imported here.

I am personally leery of buying stuff online and handing out my credit card number. How honest are online sellers and how good are their products? What happens if you buy something, say a TV, and it doesn't work right out of the box?

Buy on-line from any major retailer and have it delivered.
No fuss, no muss.
Who wants to fight the crowds and cary home a 50" TV?

Well, you have to chose wisely who you buy from. For the most part sites "verified by visa" are secure as Visa guarantees your purchase to be secure.

Online is no different than say buying from a fly by night asian importer......

As for returns: most reputable places have a good returns policy. But with that being said, many manufacturers now have a "don't return a defective product to the retailer" policy.
