After having heard about this place in Meaford, I went and had dinner there the other day.
I had the elk special, and let me tell you, the veggies and the peppercorn and red wine sauce (translation for canadians: gravy) was excellent, but the elk meat was as tough as a old boot's sole. I don't think I have ever had as tough a piece of meat as that, and I have dined on many a wild animals in Africas.
I was in kind of a hurry, having waited more than an hour for my dinner so I cut it in very, very small pieces and downed the protein. I guess also that I was a bit reluctant to return a dish to a guy running a diner on a tank practice range.
