Has anyone here watched the video? I can't drag myself to do it. I watched the Nick Berg and Daniel Pearl videos, and I had nightmares for months.

Just read this story myself, and for the life of me I could not come to any rational conclusion as to why this teacher would do such a thing. There is no way, however you frame it, that such an act constitutes 'educational material'.

As for watching the video, I will admit to searching for it, but didn't end up watching it; it just didn't seem right.

So does he ask the class who wants to see porn during class? I wonder how an adult teacher thinks showing this to a class because they agreed makes it okay. So I guess the teacher gets an "F" in the subject of having a moral compass.

According to some other news source nearly the entire class wanted to see it.
Yeah heard that too. Awful judgement. He's the adult in the room and should have said that it would be inappropriate to watch the video at school or at home.

And that gore website owner who said he was showing the truth?!!!???? Please from what I heard there are some pretty tasteless comments posted under the video critiquing it like it was any other youtube style video.

Oh no... as a prospective teacher, I can tell you I would not show it if the entire class wanted to see it. What if they all wanted to watch porn; would that make it okay?

My step son watched it with his gf.17 year of age......on my dead mom's soul. His response to my disgust and anger?"I've seen worse on my PS3".Every generation gets a little more hardened

And what good does that do?

The whole class probably wanted to see it, he should have had the forethought to get some counsellors ready...teen age kids are idiots you can't cave into their mass hysteria.
Of course he should be fired. The good it would do is getting a teacher with no sense of judgment out of the schools!
I cannot fathom why any idiot would contemplate showing such a video to a school class, and as for the argument "they wanted to see it" who gives a shit!? He's the adult, leader and role model for the class. By showing the video he not only risks harming the kids, but also perpetuates the horror and degradation for the victim and his family. He should be fired immediately, without any hesitation.

Btw, I wish the news would stop calling it a "gore video".

It is a video of a murder and subsequent desecration of the victims corpse. It's not a slasher flick.

I started to.... Got as far as him wailing away with an ice-pick, then stopped. Then clicked ahead to a scene of blood everywhere and a severed head. That was enough.

It's amazing the amount of gore on the Internet. I have never looked for it, but there is some really sick/sad/disturbing stuff out there. I'm sticking to porn.

As for the teacher, clearly he should be fired and probably will be. My guess is that any of the kids who really wanted to see it, probably already had. It's not like it's hard to find. For those that didn't, and were subjected to watching it, some could be seriously affected by watching this. It's creepy shit, to see the least.

Definitely not...part of the attraction for these freaks is knowing they are getting attention and I am surprised it is even still online.

Out of respect for the victim, I would not watch as well.

The actual murder isn't shown, the video was edited by the douchebag himself before posting on the internet.

I regret to say I did watch the video early on before it was authenticated and there is NO way in hell it should have been shown to a grade 10 class!! Or any high school class.

If this teacher was so enthusiastic to show this to kids (almost all under 16!) then he/she should have asked for parental consent, not to mention approval from the school admin. But the answer would have correctly been a resounding NO.

As for kids and others saying they see worse on TV/PS3's etc? Bullshit. This was not some Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie or whatever. This was a human being who had been alive and breathing moments before. (in fact, even though restrained and clearly drugged, Lin WAS alive and moving around in the first minute or so of the vid!). Hacking through limbs, fucking the torso and then using a wine bottle, putting a little puppy to feed on the severed torso, etc etc etc. I'm sorry for the graphic deets but most have been publicized already. This wasn't just some bad judgement call on the teacher's part, he's got to be fucked in the head to show this to kids!

Every time I see pix of Jun Lin's face, it breaks me down having seen what was done to him and if I could turn back time a couple weeks, I would never have watched it.

If I had kids that were shown this video, getting fired would be the least of this asshole's worries!

I thought I was the only guy who made the mistake of watching those videos. I wish that I never had. There's no-way I would watch this video.
