Plea bargain rejected in case of slain actress

NORRISTOWN, Pa. — Prosecutors rejected a woman's offer to plead guilty to charges that she lied to police investigating the killing of a Canadian porn actress during a bondage photo session.

Jennifer Mitkus, 30, of Oaks, wants to plead guilty to lying to authorities and hindering apprehension in the Natel King murder probe, said her lawyer, public defender Carolyn Carluccio.

District Attorney Bruce Castor Jr. said yesterday that he would not accept the plea because he expects to file additional charges against Mitkus.

Anthony Frederick, 47, of Eagleville, Pa., will stand trial Feb. 28 in the stabbing death of King, 23. Mitkus was Frederick's assistant, authorities said.

King, 23, who went by the stage name Taylor Sumers, lived in Mississauga, but her parents and other family members were from Newfoundland.

She disappeared in February 2004 after posing for Frederick in a bondage shoot in Conshohocken, Pa., that was arranged online, authorities said. Her body was found in a trash-filled ravine nearly a month later.

I find this story extremely sad. I heard about it here first, so I am posting
this new development in the unfolding case in order to inform... I can only hope I will not be upsetting any members who may have known Ms. King
personally. It looks like the authorities are making an effort to see that
justice is properly served and those responsible for this tragedy held fully
accountable. May they prevail, for the sake of Ms. King's family and the
memory of this poor girl.
