Which one do you guys use and better product?
Quicktax or Ufile? Ufile is cheaper in term of price.

I've used quicktax since 1999, its the most intuitive tax prep program out there. I almost quick using them after last year's debacle - only 2 licenses for returns >$25,000 but this year you are allowed 8.

$45 incl. tax is reasonable.

Don't use either!!!

Use Studio Tax. It's absolutely free. I used it last year and it did the job perfectly well.

Hey, if you wanna pay, use Quick Tax. I used to use Quick Tax until last year when they screwed over their customers with higher prices and fewer returns. So I switched over to Studio Tax and found I could do the exact same return as with Quick Tax but at no cost. I even ran a comparison on Quick Tax and Studio Tax to see if I'd get the same refund and the difference between the two was under 25 cents.

For me it was a no-brainer.

I second the motion. Have used Studio Tax for 3 years now and it does as good as the commercial programs, has netfile built in as well. Pretty good for free :D

I've used both and they're more or less equivalent to one another. It probably boils down to a matter of preference, if you are familiar with one, just keep using it.

I go with whichever one is cheaper each year.

What??? No. I used it last year, had absolutely no problems, and will be using it again this year.

Personally I think anyone paying for Quick Tax or Ufile is a sucker when you can get the same product for free. Maybe if you have some kind of complicated return with all sorts of unusual deductions, but otherwise you're pissing $30-40 away for nothing.

Many years ago I used Quicktax, then moved to Taxwiz, then to Ufile (about 5 years ago). While I liked Quicktax, I moved to Ufile cause its just as intuitive, but has been cheaper than Quicktax.

I recommend Ufile to anyone who asks.

Update

I filed my taxes with Studio Tax this weekend. No problems at all. And I was pleasantly surprised to find there's now an option to save as a .pdf file. I don't think that was available in the past, and that was one of the downsides to Studio Tax. No longer.

Two thumbs up from me.
