Tariffs on Canada delayed for 30 days. Edit: The tariff war has begun.

I wonder. It would only take a few defections in the house.
They would have to vote on it, though.
The basic rule is that for an emergency declared under the tariffs, the House has to vote on a resolution to end the emergency within 18 “calendar days” of its introduction.

So Mike Johnson never needs to bring it to a vote.

Those European contracts for weapons may not be coming back
If I remember correctly the defense arm of Boeing only accounts for about 33% of their total sales. And European sales are less than 10%.

So if that dried up Boeing would take a hit, but it would never bankrupt them

Yes, the senate voted for the resolution to remove tariffs from Canada, but the tariffs would only be revoked if the House also votes in favour of that resolution, which seems unlikely
That's what I thought they said on the news.

If the US goes into some deep depression over the next couple weeks, it is theoretically possible that they might still vote on it

All the blue chip stocks are down by quite a bit in pre-market trading this morning.
We could have another Black Friday today

Yup. The level of stupid here is sky high, due mostly to bumpkins believing everything they hear on Fox News and read on Facebook. Republicans have capitalized on that stupidity (in addition to the hate and fearmongering). It's why these assholes are making so many cuts in education. They need a stupid, misinformed, gullible populace for their political survival.
By the way, why hasn't @mitchell76 chimed in lately?
It's crazy how they will spin all Trump's failures into positives. And their audience still believes it.

And all the MAGA/51st State supporters on this site ran. They realized this would be much harder than advertised and split before anymore embarrassment could happen.

To all the Trumputin Terbie supporters,

How would America be today under Kamala? Imagine that! No instability, stock market purring along, nobody worried about job losses, plants shutting down, GOD DAMN, not sure the righties would be able to stand it I guess.

PS...I almost forgot, NO SOVEREIGN NATIONS being threatened with annexation.

Sure, the Russian invasion wouldn't have been stopped in 24 hours- oh wait, it hasn't, ok, scrap that.

Sure, the prices of groceries wouldn't have come down. OH WAIT, scrap that.

Sure, waiters and waitresses would get to keep their tip money tax free. Oh, OH WAIT, scrap that.

Job creation- oh wait, scrap that, if anything it's been job annihilation.

Faster economic growth than ever seen before :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: no comment needed.

Imagine a 20% drop in sales. For years. What's their profit margin, fixed costs for manufacturing? That's the ugly part.
