Tampa Bay vs Carolina

Very big game tonight... Will be watching closely - Lightning need to win this game as the Leafs and Thrashers are on their tail...

Carolina controls their own destiny...if they win their final three games, they finish first in the Eastern Conference, so they too will show up to play...

Any other day of the year, a match-up between these two teams would be a bore...but not tonight!!! Will be watching on satellite!!!

Yup, if Tampa wins one more game they could clinch, glad they only got 1 point though, like Kathleen said, could be much worse. I think Carolina will come out strong and with the momentum next game, Tampa had the lead late in the second and had way more shots on net and Carolina crushed them in the shootout. Could be one of those games that just puts them out. HOPEFULLY IT IS...

Great game, it had a good playoff atmosphere... Now the Leafs have to do their part and beat Ottawa...it is going to be tough...I think no matter how the game ends up tomorrow, the fans are going to give this team a standing O - they could've just laid down and died but they battled back and Captain Mats showed a lot of balls during this stretch. I will enjoy it.

if Toronto didnt go 3-13-2 just before and after the olympic break they wouldnt be in this predicament! That killed their season just as much as the double beatdown in Montreal.

2 consecutive ties (shoot-out losses)...or 1 win in the next 2 games by Tampa will knock the Leafs out of contention...

Atlanta will have to lose one, or tie 2 (shoot-out losses) in order to have the Leafs go ahead...

AND the Leafs will have to hope for the above and win the remaining 3 games of the season


the reason why they need this is b/c if it falls into a tie-breaker situation then Tampa or Atlanta will win because it decided on games won first and then other stats...Tampa and Atl both have more games won than the Leafs... gonna take a MIRACLE on ICE

That's one factor, but if it the previous two months had been any less of a disaster, there would never have been the changes in playing time which contributed to the late surge.

Also, if Tampa had played up to it's ability for the entire season, the Leafs wouldn't be this close now regardless of what they did.
