I came into a situation where I had to open a non custodial wallet to get some usdt. I'm used to crypto.com and newton where gas fees are built in it seems. I'm no crypto expert but this was my only option. The wallet is bitpay, they seem legit as I downloaded the wallet from play store.
I was told to have 1.08 eth in has fees so I deposited it. I tried swapping 1k of usdt to eth as usdt isn't available in canada. It came back as contract error. I have no fucking clue what I'm doing, how can 5kusd in gas fees not swap 1kusd to eth. I fucking frustrated beyond belief. Am I being scammed?
