Super Connie's Airplane Bar

Those of you who live in the Mississauga area may know this place. It is located on Derry Road by Pearson Airport. Well it seems like a cool place to check out. Unfortunately, is has been closed down for so time now. Does anyone know when this place was open and what it was like?

Yeah it's across form the Airport Strip, I pass it every day. Originally it was supposed to be beside the Constellation Hotel(also closed), but was moved to it's present location. How big of a restaurant could there have been, inside a plane that size? It's been sitting there empty and rotting for a couple of years now.

It was originally at the Constellation Hotel... it was a gimmick.. The Super Connie (Constellation) at the Constellation Hotel!

Apparently there was a falling out between the owner of the plane and the hotel.. and it was moved near to the south side of Derry, just east of Bramalea.

It was a unique place, a fun place to go and have a drink after work. The plan was to have a patio under the plane, with live entertainment on the weekends during the summer, However it never seemed to "take off".

Super Connie

I popped in several years ago after they opened at the Derry Road location. Just because it was something different. Service was lousy - food wasn't much better. No wonder they're closed.

However, I still like the idea and wonder if someone else could make a success of it.
