I was out last week for a long period of time in the sun and it looks like I have a sunburn on my forehead the skin is peeling off but the skin underneath is lighter in colour Im east indian and this has never happen before due to my darker skin so right now I look like have a skin disorder. I know some of you have been sunburn before how long dose it take to heal and comeback to normal colour since Im pretty worried that this is going to stay this way.

Thanks for your help

I've always found aloe vera to be the miracle cure! I usually burn at the beginning of the summer until I get a bit of a base tan, then I'm normally ok, so I've got it worked it down to an art. Once you get burned, coat yourself with the aloe a few times on the day of the burn (seriously, at least 3 times) and then do it again the next day. By the following day, I've always had the burn gone. The trick for me seems to be the more you put on when you first get burnt, the better off you are.

Probably take about a week, no reason it shouldn't go back to normal, this comes from a white dude that burns in about 15 minutes, see, it's not that easy being white folk. :p

depends on how bad the burn is. You can get a deep second degree burn from the sun.

I have freckles on my back from a sun burn I got in 1981.

Nice Dens
Get yourself some Cortizone cream from the pharmacy. Put it on the burn area before going to bed and again when you wake up in the morning. Will clear your burn up in two or three days. Cheers GB

Get some Aloe Vera as already mentioned. And before you go to bed, use Noxema on it. The stuff stinks but it does a great job of taking the sting away.

You need to keep the area out of the sun, so get a good hat that will shade the area. Obviously you need to use a 15 SPF or stronger sun lotion on your exposed skin from now on or you will continue to burn.

Unless blisters formed or you are diabetic or have an immune disorder, you should heal in 5 - 10 days.

Freaking stings, don't it? I had a friend when we were teenagers, and when I used to burn, he would slap my back as a joke. Well, he went home to Africa and came back with the mother of all burns. The first day I saw him I gave him a mighty slap across the back. He dropped like a stone.

He understood from that point on.:D
