I am looking for a supplier of diabetic or food with little or no sugar in it. I have type 2 diabetes and control it well with diet but find just about everything has sugar in it. Just wondering if anyone here at Terb has or knows of a supplier of these types of sugar reduced or sugarless foods.

Not sure what you mean...just about everything has sugar in it? Fresh meat, vegetables, eggs, cheese, grains, legumes, etc. That's what I eat. Along with fruit of course, which may be a problem for you as it is high in fructose. What kind of food are you looking for with no sugar?

Stay away from prepared and processed foods, restaurant foods.

Buy fresh and cook it yourself.

There are lots of health(y) food stores in the gta.

Try Ambrosia and/or The Big Carrot.

Your doctor doesn't have any suggestions for this? I'd recommend speaking with a dietician or the like.

Welcome to the club- unfortunately it is not an exclusive one - you have to look hard in Canada for no sugar added and sugar replaced foods. Just watch your diet - increase your excerize and cut out the alcohol - Good luck - it's a hard habit to kick but you can do it and control it instead of it controlling you. And besides - if you don't you can forget about this board because your wood will have gone with the Mars Bars.

Atkins

Has a tonne of low or no sugar products. It's amazing the amount of no sugar added stuff out there now.jellos, puddings, chocolates(using matitol), though don't eat too much, you'll shit your brains out.

i have a local bakery near me that can bake to order using sugar alcohols. There is a no sugar added section is every grocery store I've been in in the last year and it seems there is something new everytime

Thanks for the replies and info. Have a few new leads to follow.

Already make myself many baked goods and breads with stevia and home made jams with artificial sweetner. Don't drink alcohol and no pops. Coffee black and no sweets like chocolate and ice cream. Used to have a bakery nearby who made and imported foods from europe which contained no sugars.

Thanks again for the advice. Its appreciated a bunch.

Watch out for the caffeine in coffee....even without sugar, it can cause your blood sugar to spike.

I've not found that a problem yet....type 2 for about 3 years now...currently using Metformin with meals and Lantus long acting inject-able insulin once daily at night. Blood sugar is pretty well controlled with this and reasonable diet control.

I have found less libido at times, but, if I'm suitably stimulated, the "wood" is still quite serviceable....and I'm 50.
