Canada is doing what all countries do regarding foreign policy...they are acting in their best interests...It's a good opportunity for Canada to improve relations with the U.S. and vice versa...I wouldn't slight Canada that, and remember that, despite the overblown bravado on this board, the U.S. and Canada are still very close and it's not unusual for one to serve the other in situations like this.
Make no mistake...if Canada was attacked tomorrow, the U.S. would retaliate against whomever the aggressor...regardless of recent events.
Even the U.S. France thing is being overblown. In the theater of world politics, two countries like France and the U.S. are not going to abandon each other...not after everything we've been through together...Normandy is a good example.

Alien, it was the French who were sucking up in that photo op. France is on the *hit list for the foreseeable future. I thought it was funny that a Frenchman would have to show Americas' war dead to an American, you'd think that would have made our point for us. Perhaps to complete the irony the German Finance Secretary should have been there as well. Can’t you just hear it, this is where your guys shot his guys trying to save us, not that we could be bothered – we surrendered.
