Just wondering if any other hobbyists deal with this as well? Most every time I perform DATY on an SP I end with strep throat a day or two later. I suppose I could eliminate from the menu altogether but I just get caught up in the moment and forget about the consequences.

Thoughts?

I sometimes get colds and other minor stuff that I figure I pick up from dfk. Likely the next best way to spread that stuff after having kids in school, but never anything worse.

Never strep throat.

You could stop doing DATY for a while and see what happens. Or use a dental dam if you must partake. Can you even get strep throat through DATY? Isn't the bacteria that causes it only reside in the throat?

How do you know it's Streptococcal pharyngitis? Strep throat is a very specific type of 'sore throat' where the definitive diagnosis is only made based on the results of a throat culture. Chances are it's something viral like a cold or the flu passed on by close contact or kissing and not DATY.

Isn't the bacteria that causes it only reside in the throat?
Streptococcus pyogenes is not limited to the throat.

Eliminate it and see what happens.
Then try DATY but no LFK/DFK.
See the results and make your own conclusions.

When you are in the U.S. next time, by some betaine 10% solution. Garggle with that for 30 seconds and most of your strep will go away.

does the OP get a confirmed case of strep throat?
I had strep throat confirmed the previous time by my family doctor during my physical.

It's generally sore for a couple days and swallowing food is painful. Like I mentioned its happened several times now so not a coincidence. Guess I have to be more diligent about excluding it from the encounter....oh well. :(

If it clears up on its own, it is NOT strep throat.

If you leave strep throat untreated you run the risk of very serious medical complications, including death.

Strep throat is confirmed by a swab, and is treated by antibiotics. A sore throat that goes away on its own without antibiotics is NOT strep.

From my reading, it is not necessarily true. Indications are that strep throat can resolve without the use of antibiotics... it just takes a lot longer and the infected person remains contagious for a LOT longer. Much longer than a couple of days. However, it is STRONGLY recommended to use antibiotics to treat confirmed strep to speed healing, avoid infecting others, and avoid possible serious complications if the infection spreads (as you indicated).

Whatever it is that's causing you discomfort is probably being shared with all the women you see, and by extension, all the guys they see in turn.
It would be very considerate of you to refrain for a while, get a thorough check up done, and only go back to sharing your saliva when you have a clear bill of health.

As a fellow hobbyist in this city, that would be much appreciated.

Fair enough. I am not a doctor. I had always thought strep throat needed a course of antibiotics.

I am reacting to the fact that a relative of mine almost died last month from an untreated strep throat infection, but the relative is immuno-compromised.

:(Streptoococcal Pyogenes, which causes "strep throat" is not usually found in the vagina of adult females, maybe in the flora of prebuscent females. If you find that you are getting strep throat after DATY on a SP, then maybe, you yourself are immunocompromised, or highly susceptible to strep. infections? Maybe you are eating at an assembly line place and the previous customers have strept and the SP is not washing between tricks?:(
