Anyone else going to see them this fall? Or were you turned off by the Timberlake duet at the SARS benefit, or the insane ticket prices - $450 for best seats in TO, I believe. I paid $95 for nosebleeds in Ottawa

No great album of new material in 30 years (I did say great). They are one step above seeing Tony Orlando at 'rama. Make no mistake, I am a huge fan... but they are an oldies act now and $400 for an evening out (moderate to lousy seats in a horrible venue) is just a waste of $$$ IMHO...

Used my rolling stones legecy passcode and scored 4th row seats to Ottawa and 3rd seats to Montreal at $99.00. If you had a RS.com passcode pre-May 9th it allowed you to purchase these specially priced tickets days before the public sale.

The Stones...write....perform.....and sing their own songs at their concerts which is more than I can sya of all the high priced current supposed stars who just like to lipsynch!

They always had an overblown reputation of being a great concert band, but I think their best work was done in the studio. I'll never get tired of "Let It Bleed" or "Beggar's Banquet".

don't mean to nitpick, but Some Girls (1978) ranks up there with Beggars/Bleed/Sticky/Exile, IMO. I agree, though, they are essentially an oldies act now, but a damn good one.

Up until around 1982, they were untouchable live. I admit that Keith and Ronnie's playing nowadays leaves a lot to be desired, but Mick and Charlie have still got it. Check out the FourFlicks DVD and see for yourself.
Now if they could only dump the background singers and brass.

wow!! major score. congrats! I just couldn't bring myself to pay the $100 for the fanclub membership. Considered it a ripoff at the time. If they ever tour again (unlikely), I'll probably reconsider next time.

just a little off topic, but the 2nd last time the Eagles came to town(Air Canada Center), Glenn Frey commented..."you keep payin'...we'll keep playin'..."

it's all about the music boys......tongue firmly planted in cheek....

I'll be there!

I have been to the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival many times, Live Aid, the Fillmore East, etc. but this will be my first time for the Stones.
