Why is it that people freak out this early in the season?
1)So the leafs get thrashed a few times. With the new rules there are going to be some blow outs.
2)It's so early in the season. A while ago I was at a sports bar watching a leaf game and after every goal people were screaming and yelling and high fiving like it was the game winning goal of game seven of the stanley cup.
3)Maybe we need to be more realistic. The leafs are an aging team with a lot of question marks (e.g. can the guys notorious for injuries stay healthy). It's not like we have powerhouse of a team with a brickwall in net. So why are people getting so worked up whenever they lose?
4)What about giving credit to the other team? Ottawa is a very good team
Truth is I'm more of a fan of hockey in general so perhaps I need to be one of those diehard gilmour or clark jersey wearing fans to understand the whole leaf phenomenon.
Anyways, just curious to see what people have to say not really looking to argue (for once).
