STI Testing

Hi guys

I know this should be in the health thread but no one seems to respond there these days and I was just hoping for quick response. I have never been tested before for an STD/STI and was wondering do I just book a appointment with my family doctor and he will do it right then and there ? Or will he send me to a specialist or the STI testing centers?

I just don't want to be running around lol going one from place to the next want just one doctor visit and boom be done with it. Any info? Thanks.

I go to my family doctor.

Make an appointment. When there just pee in a cup and take a blood test. Takes about 10 days for results.

Can't you just call your family doctor's office and ask the receptionist? She will explain when you book the appointment that the tests are done in the office. If for some reason you are too shy to go to see your doctor you could make a trip to the city and visit the Hassle Free clinic for anonymous test results.

Get tested. Do it regularly. Man up.

STI testing out in my neck of the woods is done by public health clinics
Family doc can do some things but not most
So if looking for one stop shop go to an STI clinic directly (plus they way faster, things like HIV can be tested in minutes)

^ Yes, typical infections like gonorrhea tested on the spot, and swabs usually not required (not every GP/family doctor is aware they don't necessarily need to take swabs).

Hassle Free Clinic 66 Gerrard near church st. - see webpage for when they have mens or women's hours - better to have an apt usually no longer than 30min wait.. (usu right away or 15min) but even if you are earliest at drop in seems to still be 2h wait
