Stephen Tallarico on American Idol

So I went in trying to check out J Lo's Ass in American Idol.

Found this fellow called Steven Tyler.

Funny for a Rock guy. I thought he would be cocky.

But man he is Cool Dude.

I don't understand the credentials of "JLo" -- she has a dance background, sure, OK.

But as a singer evaluator?
- She doesn't write her own songs (it's like a major league roster for her song credits)?
- She doesn't really sing (over-produced by the producer of the day)?
- She hasn't repeated her early successes (downhill part of her music career)?

Heck, she can't even carry a movie role?

I thought both of the new judges are doing an excellent job. JLo as the new, less wishy-washy Paul Abdul. Steve Tyler, the dude actually wants to help the contestants it looks like, as opposed to just shooting them down haphazardly or giving of some sappy advice.

Like the way Tyler gets into some of the singing by the contestants, I can see how some of them get motivated to do better in their auditions when Tyler's is participating with them, that's cool.
