How about some heavy duty plastic sheeting. Hate washing towels and bed sheets.

I imagine there would be uncomfortable heat buildup from plastic. You could get underpads designed for incontinence to protect the bed, available at medical supply stores. They're machine washable or you can get disposable ones if you're too lazy to wash.
