Where is the best place in the GTA to get an appraisal done for some sports memorabilia? Incase the best place is too expensive where is the 2nd best place?

You should get a rough estimate with on-line sources and also improve your knowledge...what do you got?
I take the pessimistic approach; it's worth as much as someone will pay. But if you need to have a number, generally 50% of the price guide value. And Becketts was the go to guide some years ago. I don't know if this is still the case.
A buddy went to get some stuff checked out. The service would have cost him more than the collection was worth. Check on line and eBay to see what things are going for. What it’s “valued” at and what people are willing to pay for it are 2 different things.
yes I am aware they are 2 different things. I'm actually not looking to sell my item as I know the value of it is not significant right now. I'm looking to pass it down as the value would be considerably higher 20+ years from now. Just want to have a formal record of the item for insurance purposes incase of theft or fire.
