Decided to jump ship today and take a day to go see some big engines, fat tires, and maybe buy a few things to add to my toolbox or car.... Wasn't going to happen this year at this show.
I am totally dissapointed with the way the show has become, and probably won't go to another Speedorama unless there's a particular exhibit, car or other specific reason to spend my $18 admisson.
I almost thought I had the wrong show when I went in, it sounded like a Car Audio competition. I was very dissapointed to see the lack of Motorsports represented at the show. the short list of speed vendors were mainly from Race tracks and die hard show vendors that did turn out.
I was impressed that Monster Garage brought a few vehicles as well as West Coast Customs (Pimp my ride) came and brought excitement.
There was far too many cutom imports and compacts at the show. It used to be a battle of cubic inches and chrome. Now it's electronics and audio, not about horespower and custom cars.
I think I should have gone to the Bridal show next door and knew what to expect.
But if you guys do plan on going tomorrow....
Hooters has some girls from Niagara Falls and photo opps. Max Agency had a few girls running around in mismatched black outfits handing out something, and rarely had someone at their booth (but there was another agency there that was doing things properly and had 3 models with available photo opps and signed posters with them ... Incidentally their photos had cars in them KUDOS to them!). Plus a few of the vendors had hired girls for polaroids.
I know Friday night is when to go for this show, but I was truly dissapointed in the show as a whole. It just isn't for me anymore if they are going to promote the whole big block, tire smokin, 130 db engines .... then make the majority of exhibits around it custom compacts with 120db stereos.
