Sparkling Wine?

I heard on 680 NEWS this is a good value, anyone try it or have any suggestions/ alternatives:

Have tried it and for the price it is not bad. That is not to say it is a good sparkling wine. If you want a decent sparkling wine that will not break your bank, might I suggest Pol Roger Brut at around $40. Probably the best bang for the buck in my opinion. Remember, taste is a very subjective thing, try a few and buy what you like, regardless of the price. Cheers.

I agree it is very subjective but spending too much means less for other hobbies...

Try Persecco which is a italian sparking wine. It retails for around $12 in LCBO.

Alot of bars use it in place of champange, it's pretty good

Roger... the Seaview Brut from Australia has been around for a number of years and for a sparkling it offers good value for the dollar. I've used it in numerous functions and Seaview can hold it's own against many of the mid-range priced sparklings from Germany, Italy and Spain. (Henkell, Asti, Segura Viudas, Freixenet)

Highly recommended Italian Asti, $12.95 @ LCBO. In summer time promotion to $11.95. Champange like for special occasions without the price tag. Tried it on a cruise and loved it ever since. Drinkers and non-drinkers at my table all loved it.

NOT true at all Champagne is made by the 'Champenoise method' something about fermenting in the bottle. Why do you think it cost under $15.00 for prossecco and sparkling wine and at least $45.00 for champagne. It is true that it can only be called champagne if it comes from France. Also Champagne is made of chardonnay and pinot noir grape, Sparkling wines not sure? and prossecco from prossecco grapes. Used to date a wine agent years ago and she bored me with all this info and more
