Sounds like Sony's going to have to work to keep its share of the market.
I guess they should hype the ps2 by dropping the price on the machines and lower the price of ps2 games to tide people over.
But $900 (probably USD) is a lot of money. At that price I don't see myself rushing out to buy one. Mind you the original PS started at $600 and I paid $400 and it finally settled at $150.

They are not going to sell the system at $900 it's going to cost that in materials to make it. They never make any money for system sales they actually lose money but in the long run they make it back in software sales. Sony will sell the PS3 at arund the same price as the 360 it's just they are going to be taking a larger hit then Microsoft on the new system.

The machine will be out November 2006 in all markets supposedly. The kicker here is that the system requires a 60GB HHD to play games and it may not be included when you buy the system. So unless Sony changes its mind you'll have to go out and buy the system and then buy the HHD too on top of a game and extra controller (if you want one).
I don't know about you guys, but I'm gonna get a Revolution and wait a year for the PS3 to go through a price drop. I can imagine me spending that much on a console, no matter how much I may want it......
