Darwin does explain it very well. People are born with differences by mere chance, if these differences are advantageous for survival they have more children who are in turn born with these same differences. Unsure what the advantage of a foot fetish is

Darwin has a hard time explaining gays as they do not reproduce and pass on their genes so gays should be rare but there are some Darwinian theories. If you are the first born you are less likely to be gay so that may have something to do with it.
