A report in the globe says that Sleeman is considering "Strategic Options".
One of these could include a sales to a multi-national.
The favourites seem to be:
1) SAB (South African Breweries) Miller : Looking for an inroad into the very profitable yet declinig Canadian market.
2) Molson Coors : Looking for a Premium offering for their portfolio. They represent Heineken and Corona but margins are low.
3) Inbev (Labatt) : Just 'cause they don't want the other two to have it.
Any thoughts on who the favourite would be?
It would suck that we would lose the last Canadian owned nationally distributed brewery.
