Sitcom writer income

hey guys,
does anyone have any clue what type of income a sitcom writer here in canada gets?
i've read alot about writers in the US, but its really hard to get good info about right here at home.
any help would be appreciated.

Larry David made 750 million off of Sienfeld.

Leno has a group of writers that freelance and he pays them 500 for every joke he uses in his monologue. That would be a nice gig. Just read the paper in the morning, write up a quick joke, email it in, and check is in the mail.

At the range!!!
A friend of a friend wrote 6 story lines (not the whole script) for an Aaron Spelling show. (something after 90210, I can't remember what) He faxed them in, they sent him $5000 u.s/ idea and said they might use them.

You mean there are Canadian sitcoms? Corner Gas is the only one I know of, and Brent Butt does the lion's share of the writing.
