.....so, what's the big deal?? I am in my thirties and still single and I have absolutely no problem with that. I enjoy my life, I'm an attractive guy and date quite often, I keep healthy, I work-out and have a full-time career.....I love my life the way it is!! I hobby every now and then to satisfy some urges that do not require "calling the next day" or any other "issues" that go along with dating or relationships. Its a nice get-a-way from the everyday life.

In any case, my point is this, I am in my thirties and single....and I consistantly hear from family, friends, media, etc. that I should be married with children. I look around at my friends and family who are married, some with children, and I do not want any part of it. Most of them complain about "not having any time for themselves", "too busy with events for the kids", "your so lucky to be single".....so why push?? I like that I can go where-ever I want, when-ever I want without having to answer to anyone. Why is it so important to get married?? Why is it so important to have kids?? I know it sounds selfish, but I don't want the burden of having kids.

Don't get me wrong, I love kids.....just as long as they're not mine!! Why does society push so hard to enforce this marriage rule?? I'm sure marriage has its advantages and I know many people will say that in 10 years I'll look back and regret not getting married.......but who cares?!!?! I can do so much more without the luggage now, then I could if I was married. I will be satisfied with my life in 10 years.

Sorry about the rant today, just wanted to vent. I was told today that those who do not have kids or do not get married......are worthless and deadbeats. It just gets frustrating listening to such ignorance.

I AM HAPPY!!! TRUELY HAPPY, LEAVE ME ALONE!!

Yeah I agree I'm single and in my thirties as well. But it is annoying I mean any time my dad hears me talk about a girl. Is she married will be the first question out of his mouth.

While there are many pros to being single. The big ones being freedom to do what I want and spend my money how I want. However, I would like a someone to share things with and support each other.

I know exactly what you mean, that's why I always say "Hell ya she's married, but she's a great f#%&!!". That keeps him quiet for a few weeks.

At least people don't whisper that you might be gay.

That you know of, anyway. ;)

I wouldn't be surprised if there were those rumours but I swear the pink shirt was just for the video.

Unfortunately its not a whisper anymore. Single, neat and clean.....the cause of much speculation. But for those that are curious, I am not gay....."not that there's anything wrong with that".

Wait till you're 40 and still single.

You get the "look of concern" from even your closest family members.

That said, pretty much all of my married friends are either depressed, miserable, fooling around, trapped, or all of the above. I don't envy them. I honestly can't think of a single couple that I know that I envy the male.

I am at the point now where if I meet someone and it works out - great, if it doesn't happen, c'est la vie. I have no fear of commitment, I have had several long term "relationships", just never married for one reason or another. The one time where it did look like marriage, I thank Christ every day that we didn't get married. (Christ and the troll who ended up with her!)

Some people prefer to have their kids young so they can raise them easier while the parents energy level and patience is higher, thus being able to kick them out of the house sooner in order for the parents to begin the next stage in their life sooner as well.

It is true, however, that the later you marry in life for the first time, the lower the divorce rate is.

It's all a matter of personal choice.

Thirty something single and loving it. Couple of years ago a religious frind of mine (she never pushed the G word on me and we got along) tried to get me hooked up with one of her friends. Too bad she just wouldn't take no as a final answer, I think she finally got the hint when I said "F%$K off God is single"

Stay the course. The only person whose expectations you have to satisfy are your own. Don't let others make you second guess your lifestyle. If you're not hurting anybody, you're doing alright.

Keep the faith.

I make great money, do what I want when I want, sleep with a ton of different women and never have to answer to anyone…. to me it doesn’t really get any better.
That's right. :)
