I think the issue is working out of home with an 11 year old daughter and 17 year son. Even worse having the son recruit employees from a youth hotline to work for her. Poor judgment.
If she had great lawyers she would have been able to hold off the sentencing until the bawdy house cases are released by Ontario Court of Appeal and BC. I don't think anyone with deep pockets or high profile contacts would have plead guilty while the law on bawdy houses is in such a state of flux.
Most clients distance themselves from such a scenario.
