Simone Biles should be praised, not punished for achieving a feat that was deemed impossible

Typical when you have judges scoring. Has been happening for years with other gymnasts from other countries before Biles. Look at figure skating. Unless you overhaul the whole system, it will continue to happen.

Whatever it is that is affecting her must be very serious for her to withdraw from an event that her whole existence is mounted on.

Of course the immensity of that pressure must be daunting. I can't imagine I must say. I'm thinking this has been brewing for some time and she tried to push through it but was overwhelmed.

Hope she receives the proper treatment she needs to feel better.......Much respect to her for how she is handling this.

She should get help and I don’t agree with any criticism for her decision, however, quitting should never be celebrated, whatever the reason.

Perhaps that CRAZY move has got her rattled and she's lost her nerve. Knowing that move could either get her the gold OR perhaps injure her or worse. These young athletes are under huge pressure to perform.

I think a good round of dato would get her head back around to competition level. I've got a few days happy to travel to tokyo. We should all honour the Olympic spirit.

Let’s not forget that she is an American gymnast that was part of a group that many were sexually assaulted by that Coach , can’t completely remember if she was one of his victims but if she was that could be causing PTSD . so all kinds of sympathy there
On the other hand if she just didn’t have it mentally maybe it would have been better to step aside before the Olympics cause let’s be honest its a huge accomplishment to make the olympics let alone multiple Olympics . To me honestly it smells of the woke brigades

Saw on the Joe Rogan Podcast that she was one of the athletes named who was victimized there.

Also that in a leaked or hacked medical documents it has come out that she has been using a prescription drug for ADHD for years. But that drug is illegal in Japan so she can't use it during the Olympics. So if you think about it she can't use a medication that would help her concentrate and function with the stressors of everyday life. And now she has to compete on the world stage without it as well. It's easy to see why she feels as if her mental health is failing her. Now you would think that her coaches and team would have game planned for this ahead of time. But maybe something went amiss that they didn't foresee. Who knows.

Anyways something is really wrong in her life and I hope she gets the help she needs to right her ship.

So all the critics need a check......

This is a mental block that can can creep up in elite athletes in a various sports. Pro golfers will get the "yips" where they can't make a put to save their lives. A Pro catcher suddenly can't throw the ball back to the pitcher. A Tennis player can't serve. And they can, via continued play and therapy, work through it.

In the case of the "Twistys", a gymnast loses track of where there are spacially in the air. There is a disconnect between mind and body. Which essentially means while in the air traveling at high speeds the gymnast can and has in the past done a flip, added a half turn and landed on her head.

So ANY of you MOTHERFUCKERS calling her a quitter don't have a fucking clue. She could kill herself, permanently injure herself. But that would make for great tv too right?

She pulled out because it was dangerous. Would you blame a race car driver with a sudden hand eye coordination problem? A pitcher with a wild pitch problem? No, we just hope they get better right?

Because anyone who thinks this elite athlete, who has WON 28 OLYMPIC MEDALS, plus countless other competitions, is a quitter, is a clueless fuck. And a misogynistic one as well. She did right, and there isn't a fellow qymnast, sponsor, or actual fan who thinks otherwise. Or person with common sense, and a whiff of empathy for cripes sakes.

Get out of your Archie Bunker matching arm chair and take a walk.

THURSDAY: When asked about Simone Biles, Novak Djokovic replied, "Pressure is a privilege. If you are aiming to be at the top of the game, you better start learning how to deal with pressure and how to cope with those moments...."

SATURDAY: Novak Djokovic loses his cool, throws a racket over five rows of seats, breaks a second racket and throws it into the photographers' pit, and then withdraws in a snit from his bronze medal mixed doubles match, leaving his partner unable to compete for a medal she had absolutely earned.
