Assad also created daesh by funding the Sunni insurgency in Iraq back when they were killing Iraqi Shias and Americans.

I have seen very limited evidence of this, and it does not fit his political alignment with Iran. The Iraqi rebels did not really need funding as they had lots of weapons and money from the former Baath party.
