absolutely not the sooner forgotten the better.
He won't be forgotten. Starting in a few months, and continuing for the next 4-8 years, Justin Trudeau and the rest of the Liberals will continually remind everyone who cares to listen, that all of the Liberals' problems, woes, failure to deliver on promises, etc. are the fault of the former government.

Exactly. :frusty:

  • Just like Harper did about the Chretien government before them.
  • And the Chretien government did about the Mulroney government before them.
  • And the Mulroney Government did about the Trudeau government before them.

It probably went on before that, but I wasn't around at all much then... :baby:

And why do we as Canadians feel the need to name (or rename) stuff after people?

  • The Toronto airport is STILL the Toronto airport. I rarely hear anyone call it Pearson airport.
  • Skydome is STILL Skydome, and only in the media (which is owned by Rogers) do I hear it referred to as Roger's Centre.
  • I routinely travel to Dorval airport, and I don't hear many people call it the Trudeau airport...

Let it go people...

Trudeau had just been sworn in as the new PM of Canada. The current PM was stepping down and met with the new PM privately in his office, where he handed him three numbered envelopes.

"Open these if you run up against a problem you don't think you can solve," Harper said.

Things went along pretty smoothly for the first year, but then things took a downturn and Trudeau began catching a lot of heat. He went to his drawer and took out the first envelope. The message read, "Blame your predecessor."

Trudeau called a press conference and tactfully laid the blame at the feet of the Harper Government. Things began to pick up and the problem was soon behind him.

About a year later, the country was again experiencing a slight downturn, combined with poor approval ratings. Having learned from his previous experience, he opened the second envelope. The message read, "Blame your predecessor." This he did, and the country quickly rebounded.

After several consecutive positive quarters, the country once again fell on hard times. Trudeau went to his office, closed the door and opened the third envelope.

The message said, "Prepare three envelopes."

Thats true- he never forgave the kids who made fun of him at trinity college and then he ran away.

I think naming a mosque or islamic welcome centre would be a good idea

I'd love to see a homeless shelter be named after the great Stephen Harper - hope the door didn't hit you on the way out!

Does Toronto have a garbage dump that needs a name?

.... or perhaps a Refugee Centre or Village after him.

It's ironic that I shook the hand of ************ Elliot Trudeau when I was in university in the same high school that Stephen Harper attended.
