So I saw this on FB. Basically a guy complained because he is annoyed that parents put their kids in the front of shopping carts. And even let them stand in the big part itself He says that is where food goes and kids, dirty diapers, dirty shoes etc, should not be near where the food goes

I get both sides. Parents say they have no choice. They have no other place for their kids.

So what do you think?

I don't usually bring my kids grocery shopping. It's a hassle and I asked them 1 item they want and that's all they're going to get.I ake them to toys r us for good behavior and my teen works and shops at amazon but at least he asks me first...but regarding the card, there's a reason there's a kid slot there. it's for kids. why put your food there if you know that's where kids are suppose to sit?

I actually lifted a kid into one of those grocery carts. She was with her elderly grandmother and the kid kept trying to climb into the cart by herself. My concern was that the cart would flip over. No, I don't know how the kid got off the cart when they finished their shopping. So, my concern is more about safety than contaminating the food.

Jeezus....people have been putting their children in shopping carts the moment they were invented and rolled out in 1937. The design was explicitly formulated to provide a seat for children and is considered the first true mass production means of transportation for children. Why is this even a question?

Some guy complained on a Aldi group on FB about the carts. Somewhere overseas because they called them trolleys, but the same thing as a cart here. I know someone who hates that part of the cart. Always would say something or give a look when I put my purse there.

I think it is perfectly fine to have children sitting in the shopping cart

If one doesnt like it just disinfect the damn cart as soon as you get it

Having children sitting in the cart is much better then having them run around crazy in the store with the parents chasing them down.

The shopping cart handle has been diversifying bolstering and strengthening the immune systems of children and adults for a hundred years. The shopping cart is one of the unsung herd immunity heroes for many diseases that are a part of our ecosystem. Dare I say if it was not for the introduction of the shopping cart spreading bacteria around the world Covid may have killed us all by now.

All hail the shopping cart.
