Not really. There was never any doubt about the talent level that Shockey has. The fact of the matter is he is injury prone, has ongoing battles with coaches, demanding to be more of a "star" player wanting the ball more and not blocking as much "isn't that what a tight end is supposed to do? and not participating in pre season workouts.

He is more of a distraction than anything. It's too bad because he can certainly play the game.

Jeremy Shockey is an awesome player. I agree with him that he did not get the ball enough in New York. To make Shockey effective, you have to have the ball in his hands. Shockey is in my opinion one of the top 5 tightends in the league! I think adding Shockey to the already talented Saints, they have a very good chance in winning the Superbowl!
