Is it just me or did anyone else find Senator fans booing everytime Crosby touched the puck obnoxious?

By all accounts this kid is a class act. He's never said or done anything that would warrant such behavior. Would they have booed Lemieux or Gretzky?

Ironically, these are the same numbnuts that will expect Crosby to carry Team Canada to gold during the next Olympics and World Championships.

Nice to see Crosby teach them a lesson. The boos stopped after he scored.
No doubt many of them headed for home at that point.

You mean a home town crowd booed the oppositions best player. That would be like the crowd chanting the oppositions goalie. That would never happen in Toronto or New York would it?

I was watching Sports Net and they mention that when Bobby Oar played in Toronto every time he touched the puck the crowd booed. Seems like good company to me.

I don't mind them booing Crosby... to me that's the ultimate playoff compliment.

I dont know, dont you need to develop some sort of reason before you start booing guys?

I can understand the whole Alfredsson booing thing from Leafs because he had 2 incidents. I dont boo opposiing players or wouldnt...except Andrew Raycrap.

First of all do Ottawa fans actually think Crosby cares if you boo him or not...
I don't know am I misssing something but I don't rememeber Toronto Booing
Gretz everytime he touches the puck ..
Maybe not everytime he touched the puck but Leafs fans have booed 2 of the greatest players in the game Orr and Gretzky. Anyone having Leafs TV can catch those old Sunday Night Classics, from the 60's - 70's and hear the constant booing of Orr. I am pretty sure there was a boo or two thrown at Gretzky after the Gilmour incident too, among other times.

However, as 21pro says, it is the ultimate compliment. Crosby is in very good company. You score a couple of goals and you rub it back in their face.

Are you the same mental midget that wrote the article in the Citizen saying we should cheer Crosby.

It's a damn playoff series!

This thread is a joke. Booing Crosby? Please. Ottawa fans boo the entire Penguins team!

Maybe we should talk about the lack of class from a Jays/Leafs crowd - booing Carlo Colaiacovo and Kyle Wellwood when their picture was put on the Jumbotron during Thursday's game vs. Tigers at Skydome.

or

As for lack of class - try the Pittsburgh fans booing at the start of "Oh Canada" tonight. Once again an American crowd shows their true colours.

That is not what the guy who roams the arena and does intermission interviews, Elliotte Friedman, said at the start of the game.

OH so you listened and watched a biased CBC television program?

if you want unbiased hockey coverage, don't watch CBC. they make more $$ the longer the Canadian teams stay in the playoffs...

the funny thing is they also said that the Penguins put an area lock to freeze ticket sales to only those in the Pittsburgh area to avoid having busloads of Senaturds coming down... which is fine business sense to me, BTW... however, that is untrue.

I was able to buy tickets with my brother no problem. he lives 40 minutes out of downtown Ottawa! fuckin' CBC trying to make drama stories with their propaganda...BS.

this is right up there with the 2002 Olympics gold medal game in women's hockey, where someone invented the fact that the US team had the Canadian flag in their dressing room on the floor and where stomping on it, totally untrue it turned out.

The CBC without the blue and white cult playing is just plain sad, hey I am surprised that poor Bob Cole had to learn the names of the Ottawa players and could no longer get away with "Sundin skates past the Ottawa defenceman"

I didn't know it was a huge conspiracy orchestrated by Bob Cole and Elliotte Friedman, but OK. You'd think the CBC would have better things to do. By the way, 21Pro? Senaturds? Someone isn't too bitter about the Leafs being out are they?

I cant listen to Bob Cole and Harry Neal anymore. They are both losing it. I put it on the radio and listen to that while i watch the game.

i have been a Pens fan since the age of 8 when Mario was drafted in 84'
same here, hammer... though i come from northern ontario where regional patriotism doesn't exist. i still have Mario Lemieux's wristbands from my first Pens game in 1985. do you remember the wristband wearing craze?

i think my families varied tastes stems from the Soo Greyhounds alumni...
my grandparents are Oiler fans (Gretzky), mother's a Colorado fan (Foote), pop's a Detroit fan (the closest team to my hometown), brother cheers for San Jose (Thornton), sister cheers for Carolina (Ron Francis, Vasicek) best friend cheers for the Rangers ??? and now my neighbourhood is full of Leafs wagonjumpers! lol..

no Ottawa fans in my blood, though. 100% Senaturd free.
