I have heard that many times. So I went and tried the ribs. I prefer baby back ribs. Only side ribs on the menu at Phil's. bbr are meatier. Side ribs have less meat and also lots of cartiledge at one end of the rack, which I don't like. Cost - $21.50, which as Sukdeep pointed out, is overpriced. I think Baton Rouge has a better rib, with better decor, for about the same price. Phil's has had an upgrade done by Restaurant Makeover, but I still prefer Baton Rouge in that regard. Only problem...Baton Rouge has crappy side dishes while Phil's are excellent. But let's face it, you don't go to a restaurant for the sides. I actually have a preference for single location restaurants as opposed to chains like Baton Rouge, but in this case, quality of ribs and decor win over that bias. Sorry Phil. Get some baby back ribs on the menu and you might win me over. I do go for lunch and enjoy other menu items like pulled pork sandwich, but for a rib dinner, no way.MLAM said:...Phil's is the only place to go in TO for ribs.
Sukdeep said:Agreed. Phil's is good, but far from great. They are also quite pricey for the condition of the restaurant (the cost sure ain't paying for the decor or furnishings!).

These are the best I have had in Canada...which means they are perhaps average compared to what you could get from a REAL rib place in the U.S. I have no complaints...and I go there often...I am just warning you that if you happen to have spent a good amount of time in the U.S. and have had the REAL DEAL in places like North Carolina, or Tennessee, or Chicago or Detroit....you will not be blown away...
I wonder if the place you cite is related to this one...

...which I have heard good things about, but not from someone who would REALLY know Ribs...

Well Mr. Fool, that doesn't help us much, does it? So that would be in the bottom 3 of a list of 4? Do you have a favourite place that you would like to share with us, or are you just blowing smoke out your ass and enjoying pissing on everyone's shoes? You ask people where to get good ribs, and then when they tell you, you crap on their suggestion without even offering up your own ideas?? With all of 8 posts to your name. Who do you think you are? GSF? LMAOtoronto.fool said:I rate them in my bottom three. Baton Rouge sucks ass. Imported? Yeah right.
Someone's got quite a temper. Sorry, but I copied before you could delete it. You really do have royal blood, don't you? ROFLtoronto.fool said:Ok tough guy. Please don't hurt me.
Can you read english? MEPHIS RIBS. Not actually in Mephis. You know like New York fries aren't actually in NYC? Is this too much for you tough guy? I'll slow it down if need be. Use google. It's made for dense folk like yourself.
But if you like Baton Rouge you probably can't afford them.I doubt you can afford the gas. TTC doesn't make it up there so stick to Ketchup Smeared "Imported" Baton rouge ribs. No offense.
...I had forgotten. I rate them above Purple Pig...below Phil's. "Pretty good"....using a Toronto scale / curve...is about right. How good? Well, you see I didn't even remember having been....rubmeister100 said:"Cluck, Grunt and Low is a satellite of Mark Thuet's "Atelier Thuet" fancy pants restaurant. They use some fancy cooker down the road and bring them up to Bloor St.
Pretty good but not all they are made out to be. Good nontheless.
