Reading the article it states that the police are 'looking at the air supply people'. That is a real concern when you are diving in areas without proper safety standards. the lady had over 200 dives so she was no newby. I dive in Mexico and know that there are fill stations near where I go that we wouldn't even take a free tank from. Any impurities in the filling process can cause you trouble ( oil, water and paricularly the exhaust gas from the compressor motor). Lots of fly by night cheapy places there.


Tragic that it happened,there is always an element of risk in every dive.

I have a friend who worked down there for awhile years ago as he traveled about. He couldn't believe the fill station setups at some of the "2 can dive for $9.99" spots. Unless its PADI certified, I don't dive.
