Has anybody actually crossed the border at any of the various points of access? I am curious about wait times and if the ArriveCAN Ap works efficiently?

I have downloaded the Ap onto my phone. Are you supposed to photograph just the vaccine card or is there more to the process?

My understanding is that the Quebec vaccine passport is not yet in force. Any comments on that?

Do the hotels in Toronto and Montreal seem to have a normal vibe and occupancy yet or is there still a surreal feeling?

What percent of pedestrian traffic seems to be on the sidewalks in Toronto and Montreal? Or in the restaurants and night spots?

Is it just me or are there others who would be less concerned about being with a vaccinated escort than being in a bar with people who may or may not have their shots? I think the sooner the better we all agree on universal vaccinations and vaccine passports the sooner we can get back to some type of normalcy. The Prez has been the monk.

I am appalled at the number of people at big musical events in my small town in the US who are not wearing asks. I also regret the unequal treatment of Canadians who wish to cross into the US. In many ways masking and vaccine observance has been better in Canada than in the US. It is wise that you are only admitting vaccinated Americans. I personally have been living like Edmond Dantes.

As someone who pre-covid spent about 40% of weekends in Toronto and Montreal I am looking forward to returning. Watching the air show at the Harbourfront with an ice cold beer and some Canadian friends was always my way of capping off a great summer.

Last June was doing a work job preliminary design study for the Thousand Islands Bridge Commission.
Walked across the border into US by 50m with about 5 staff from the bi-national bridge authority.
We were all separated from each other by 3m. All wore masks.
We spoke to the the US CBP officer in his pickup at the border from 4m or more away.
All drive our own vehicles alone to get to near the border.

We looked at where the proposed tie in location was to be, took some photos and walked back across. Talked for 20 minutes in a big circle, then headed back to the Big Smoke.

I fibbed a few weeks later at the dentist and said No, I had not traveled out if Canada.

Sorry I can't report on current border crossing experience.

Still kind of limited to the privileged class, since you need a smart phone and a fast turnaround Covid test @ $75 and up. That being said, if you meet the requirements the wait time is minimal...

That is how socialism works . The rulers do what they want . While workers are inprisoned .

This virus imprisoned all of us just like the polio virus kept little kids isolated in our backyards and not at large public pools in the summers of the 1950s. The first effective but imperfect Salk vaccine shot liberated my grade school classroom and then the Sabin droplet on a sugar cube brought more freedom a couple of years later. Some kids were not lucky and I remember some students at my school with steel braces on their legs.

It is a priviledge to pay for a quick test if that is needed to keep us safe. I may have a fast free one available to me. I bought a mail in PCR test early in the pandemic but didn't need to use it. I just don't want to be picked out of the line up of cars at random and sent over to a crowded Big House with 50 unvaccinated people. Most of those border guards are normal but some are arbitrary chest thumpers.

The small group of people I know in Toronto are still mostly staying close to home. Some Google pictures of streets still show a lot of closed stores and bistros. I am just trying to get a feel for how things really are. Going to an isolated beach house and staring at the ocean has never been my idea of fun. And the Red states' governors seem hell bent on killing their own voters. Fishing and golfing are boring to me. It always circles back to adventures in Toronto.
