Scams are getting just slightly more sophisticated

Scams out there are getting a bit more sophisticated, so I thought I would share what I ran across.

A new provider pops up and follows me on X. I haven’t heard of her before. Shortly after, this provider initiates a DM with me. In 10 seconds of me checking her out, things on the surface appear relatively normal. She has a website, which looks like the typical basic website any other provider might have. Just the fact that she initiated a DM with me out of nowhere was an obvious red flag. Within the next minute of me checking things out, a few quick observations:

- New X account (joined Oct 2025)
- Only a small handful of people following her, vs a large number of people she is following, which is abnormal
- No real domain purchased for her website
- Mostly reposts on X, limited media posts
- No reviews or history anywhere to be found

30 more seconds of quick checking and all the images on her X account are from this actual provider at the Bunny Ranch in Las Vegas, who happens to have the exact same name: https://www.bunnyranch.com/sadie-mae/

Who is the real Sadie Mae, we will never know, but probably the one in Las Vegas, with thousands of followers. Also very close in name to an existing Ottawa provider, which likely and unintentionally may cause some additional confusion. I know many of the posts and accounts out there are scams, and I typically wouldn’t waste my fellow Terb members time mentioning anything any of this. But what struck me as interesting in this case is that someone actually took the time to create a website. I get that creating a basic website can now be done in 30 seconds using AI, but the additional effort is noted.

I tip my hat to the scammers out there, who are clearly raising their game. Stay safe, y’all.
