I have to take 2 couples in their 50s to Brunch on a Saturday. Would like decent food, somewhat private table that is not crammed up against the other patrons and not a buffet.

Globe bistro kind of idea.

Le Pappion, Le Select or Frank (AGO) is on list. Any other suggestions. Close to downtown would be good as my guests are visitors to the city. They're driving so I want to steer clear of places that are in car unfriendly area (like Kensington).

Nothing like the Ritz. But a step up from Pickle Barrel type.

Thanks.

Breaky at the Senator is a classic. For nicer surroundings, quiet and a delicious eggs Benny, I like Epic at the royal York.

Cafe Belong, Frank AGO or Origin (might be a little too hip for them).

We went to Globe Earth on Yonge. Good food and atmosphere but slow service as only one girl serving all tables. But we were not in a hurry and enjoyed ourselves.

The following day we tried Sunday brunch at Cafe Boulud in 4 Seasons. Pricey but enjoyable. Nice people watching as well.

Thanks for the suggestions. Frank AGO and Cafe Belong are definetly on my list but they were not keen on trying somewhere new. The Ritz Carlton $80 brunch is on my list when I can find dining companions that will truly appreciate it. The menu at Origin did not really appeal though I hear it's a great spot.

Globe Rosedale used to be my fave. They serve cumbrae farms bacon and sausages. Their service has gone steadily downhill over the past year. I have not been in several months.

a friend of mine just stated at the 4 seasons for a romantic getaway. She said Boulud was disappointing. Good views tho.

Origin can get pretty loud. Never been for brunch but dinner is good. A little over priced for what it is, but interesting food and service is always good. They took a few of my favourite things off the menu so I am a little cranky. (They had these huge tostones with guacamole that were so delicious. I will mourn their absence like a loved one.)

I went to the Ritz in Montreal for brunch, it's over hyped because it's Daniel Boulud’s place... it was good but the portions were really small and I wasn't super impressed. Curious about the brunch at the Ritz in Toronto.

I really like Le Select Bistro, Weslodge and Union for dinner... I didn't know they had brunch. Will have to check it out!

The Bruch in Toronto is $80pp. Lobster tails, oysters, shrimp, sushi, beef wellington, cheese display and a room full of desserts to finish to compliment the bellini and mimosa bar. Interesting people watching. That being said the back patio Deq makes a nice brunch for summertime. The view is enjoyable. Much less options - more of an appetizer selection. But the fries with trufffle aioli are worth it.
