Several weeks ago, I knew I would be in Ottawa later for an appointment, and that I would have time to kill between work and the appointment. So I made an appointment with Santana of Island Spa, and even confirmed it that morning. However, when I arrived, Santana had already taken another client. Very bad practice.
Knowing that my appointment would take me near to Bodycare and seeing as I have had good service there, I decided to try my luck. I was met at the door by Daisy, an attractive girl who seemed friendly enough. I opted for the 45 minute session ($55). What a mistake. Never have I received a so uninspired, mechanical massage. Completely lacked in any teasing, and make things worse, whatever lotion she used created such a cold sensation on my back, it felt like it was burning. Also smelled so badly of mint, I thought everyone that I was about to meet would know what I had been up to.
She left the room several times as well, after the last such leaving, I turned over on my own, hoping that maybe the massage would get better on release. It did not. No teasing, no buildup, just straight to the matter and once again, very mechanical.
Just to add insult to injury, when I dressed and was ready to leave, I politely asked for my $5 in change from the door price. Suddenly the price of the release went up by $5from what I had been quoted in the room. I know its only $5 but its the principle of the thing.
Will I repeat? Do you have to even ask?
