Many news reports today are saying that former education minister Sandra Pupatello took the fall for the McGuinty government's sleazy tactics in last week's Parkdale-High Park byelection.

According to the stories, Pupatello -- who was demoted to a more junior ministry in yesterday's cabinet shuffle -- was the government's point person in the byelection, and was the cabinet minister most responsible for peddling some of the Liberal nonsense, such as the ridiculous claim that the NDP candidate sympathized with Karla Homolka.

It is also suggested that Pupatello may have been in trouble with the so-called "education premier" because of the ongoing fights the government has been having with school boards.

I am more inclined to believe the second theory.

As much as I was a vocal critic of the McGuinty gang's greasy tactics in the byelection, I don't think Pupatello was responsible for the strategy. The timing is convenient -- and I know the media just love the angle -- but I can't believe McGuinty demoted her because of the byelection.

It does show, however, that the media haven't been too quick to forgive and forget the Grits' slimy actions from last week.

The provincial grits are history after this next election. We need desperately to get rid of these lying hipocritical nannies. Liberal is such a misnomer for these slimy bastards.
