The unprofessionalism of this council never ends. Here we have the speaker of the Toronto city council, who is supposed to be impartial, calling in to a radio show to defend the worst mayor in this city's history and slam one of the probable candidates in next years election to replace him. This woman and the rest of Miller's sycophants (Pantalone, Rae, Mammolitti, Moscoe, Mihevc, Augimieri, et al) have to go away.
I hope people remember the unnecessary, useless garbage strike, and all the instances in which petty small-minded malicious councillors who (like this one) view everyone around them who has an opposing view with such contempt when election time rolls around next year.
And by the way, this is the woman who every year wins those informal poll awards as the Best Looking Female Councillor at Metro Hall. Judging by the pic in the Sun, they must be basing the results on votes from a quite a few years ago.

If you go to the Sun website they have a webcast with excerpts from the actual phone call. She actually called in as "Sandra from Toronto". At least use a fake name.

I'll grant you that the worst mayor title may be debatable (but I disagree).
The relevancy is that she is the speaker of Metro's council and SHE IS SUPPOSED TO BE IMPARTIAL! Not to mention the fact that what she did was totally unbecoming someone who holds the position. You're supposed to at least act with some sort of dignity, although it's clear from this action and her past actions that she probably couldn't spell dignity.

I think it is relevant so far as it demonstrates the calibre of the people who are supposed to be looking out for the best interests of the citizens of Toronto!

As a City Councillor, she does not consider herself an employee of the City of Toronto? Who exactly is her employer then? Her constituents? She does not represent my riding, yet my taxes help pay her salary. By her logic however, she does not represent ME though, because I don't live in the Beach area.

Actually, she votes after debates and thus not impartial, she voted to accept the contract for the garbage strike I think. I don't know if she can actually debate though, seems like she does do a lot of talking and swaying during the debates.

By all accounts, Sandra Bussin is one of the, if not THEE dumbest councilor.

I've known people that have had to work with her on one committtee or another and popular opinion is that she's just plain stupid.
