Hi! I'm recently back from my trip in Costa Rica.
I was in San Jose and spent an evening mongering in the Del Rey and another evening mongering in the Sportsman Bar.
I looked elsewhere for prostitutes - online but I wasn't sure what I could trust in terms of online resources. I also went to a few casino's - I remember in my younger years - before I paid hookers - there were always hookers in the casino's in San Jose; but I never partook. Now that I partake - there are no hookers in the casino's lol. I walked around quite a bit - but I only saw street hookers at night and that's at a time when it was unsafe (I was in a taxi) && there are a lot of trannies which I'm not interested in. I've heard girls from the street aren't as safe as when you pick them up from one of the hotel bars - for much the same reasons girls on the streets of Montreal or Toronto aren't as safe as what you get from an agency/reputable indy. So in the end I mainly used what I had at the Del Rey as well as the Sportsman's Bar.
Del Rey
The place is a hotel/bar/club - all three (the bar, the club, the hotel) are within safe walking distance of one another - even late at night. However there are some very sketchy people who hang out in front - the taxi drivers, hookers, and random people selling trinkets - they didn't give me a good impression and I insisted on taking an UBER home instead of using one of the sketchy looking taxi drivers in front of the place. There is also a casino and restaurant on premises which are both open 24hrs. The girls are all shapes and sizes, some very pretty. Del Rey itself is a typical sports bar with a bunch of TV screens, two barstations, decent service; it's loud though with a lot of music blaring but I managed a conversation with a few ladies. Who I took home in the end - she seemed like a real party girl and spoke of taking all kinds of drugs, and asked if I wanted to see a lesbi show with her and her friend - I declined since I'd seen her friend at the Del Rey and she wasn't nearly as pretty. I had fun - but wouldn't repeat. She was a little too trashy for my taste and couldn't really hold a conversation outside of drugs she likes and parties she's been to. She was reasonably pretty though with a good body. She was great in bed with a 'go-getter confident' attitude, and it was good sex altogether. Lol she was just not my type as a person.
Sportsman's Bar
I liked Sportsmanbar more between the two. The vibe is more laid back, and I could hear myself think (it wasn't so bad at Del Rey - I just appreciate the music not blaring). There are TV's everywhere. I took home a very pretty girl, spinner by any means, she had a very pretty face and she looked more East Indian than latina (of course the looks can overlap). She was great conversation and said she had an interest in yoga, and was studying psychiatry at university (who knows if it's true) - though she had a decent knowledge of the two subjects - as well as a good taste in film. We had a good conversation and I was happy to take her back with me. She was OK in bed and went along with almost any request I had - but she didn't have much initiative and I had to request and get an OK for anything that happened. I have a feeling that at some point between the Sportsman's and getting back to my place (a 15min taxi ride) maybe I said or did something that struck her as not good, she really changed from outgoing and smiley and a little bubbly to very quiet and diminutive (not my style - I like a take charge kinda girl). She didn't really seem to enjoy herself - or maybe she's really submissive and just wanted to follow my orders but something changed in her attitude at some point and she became somewhat withdrawn - almost as if intimidated by me. But she kept up the act and we had sex in a bunch of positions and she gave it what she got. I suspect - maybe - she's just submissive and wanted me to order her around - I couldn't quite tell what was happening but it's my best guess. Being dominant just isn't me. She allowed COF for an extra 50$. I took her number if you're interested.
Typical price seems to be about 100$ for the girl to come back to your place - I bargained a little bit but not much. They both started by asking for 150$ but quickly dropped the price. This price doesn't seem to be for the hour but more for the time it takes you to cum. Both times the action was non-rushed and slow paced - I got more than an hour. The girl at the Del Rey didn't seem to be in any rush to leave at the end and I almost had to usher her out. The girl from Sportsman's was a little more 'rushed' - though I wouldn't quite call it that - she just didn't seem interested in spending extra time - she wasn't hurried - just not interested in lying around. Both times the girls was with me for well over an hour - a few hours in fact. I had fun both times. The girls at both places are EXCELLENT at making themselves look good, by wearing push-up bras, covering their midriff, etc... My advice: take only girls home if they expose their midriff - even a little bit is enough to tell. I really like places like the Del Rey and Sportsman because I like a little 'get-to-know-you' chat before paying a girl. She can tell if she's comfortable around me and if she's not she'll make up some excuse why she can't; likewise if I feel the vibe is wrong I can make up an excuse after chatting her up. While I had good experiences with both ladies remember that some - certainly not all - of these girls can be thieves and if you leave them alone in your hotel room - especially if you're passed out drunk - they may steal some things. It's a major reason why I didn't end up taking a duo on the trip. The girls at both places are reasonably nice and will go up to you but by no means are pushy. Both times safe-sex was the norm and CBJ was done without my asking. I don't like to take risks so I had no objections.

Keep in mind these girls are often from a combination: Costa Rica's (or a Central American country's) poorest neighbourhoods, very little education, impoverished, broken families, single mother, very little education to perhaps the point of illiteracy or supporting their family in some way (although both girls I saw weren't a mother - they did both claim to help their families out), etc... I could go on about how their lives are tough. I'm not trying to preach - just putting into perspective that for many - prostitution is the only solution they have to make a livable wage.
