The owners of the property are a LLC limited liability company. The owners my fight the judgement knowing that there may be other cases against them from other tenants in the building. Depending on how the business is structured the plaintiffs in this case may only get a share of the building along with plaintiffs in other cases once mortgage, penalties, taxes, lawyers fees have been paid. The owners of the building may have a holding company that owns many LLCs that own one building each. The $3.5 Million Verdict may turn out to be pennies on the dollar, possibly the legal system may eat it all up.
This article doesn't given nearly the details needed. Had they formed an LLC which purchased the building, or did they purchase it as partners and then form the LLC? Huge ramifications on appeal.

The landlords were scum and deserved the penalty they received. Yes, it is American justice at work but the landlords actions were the reason the Court awarded such a high judgement. Hopefully this will dissuade other landlords of employing the same tactics.
