Ahh...it's been a while since I bothered to report on yet another Samsung shenanigan...some of you might remember the paid-for forum reviews/trolls and the benchmark cheating among a few.

Well, here's a case where Samsung is trying to shut a guy up when he sent his S4 in for warranty replacement!

That Samsung is sending a contract to a user who simply wants a replacement for a malfunctioning device that’s still under warranty at all is cause for concern, however, it’s the first few lines that will catch the eye of long-time Samsung users and consumer advocates. According to the contract, “As a condition of exchanging the phone with a similar model, [User] agrees to remove his YouTube video… or any other link or statement relating to these matters and refrain from making other videos or statements about or relating to the matters set out herein.”

Effectively, Samsung is holding the replacement device ransom until GhostlyRich removes his YouTube video profiling his ordeal. Of course, being an enterprising YouTuber GhostlyRich decided to post the text of the unsigned contract to YouTube to put a spotlight on the issue and secure a replacement device for his friend.

Sorry if this has been posted before but I doubt it gets old with the re-telling. :)

Stupid move by Samsung. Conditional releases upon repairs is not new - I had put a media package to GM complaining about car problems that they refused to fix suggesting it would go out to the papers if they didn't take care of it. I had to sign a document promising to keep quiet if they fixed the problem. I did and they did.

A writer pointed out that Samsung was putting the public at risk by forcing people to keep quiet. I can dig that one up if need be.

I bought a defective samsung printer a few years ago, still under warranty Samsung put me through customer service hell. They never fixed it and I just gave up, it was not worth my mental health to fight on. But, I will never buy another samsung product again.

Something must have upset you in order to dredge up threads from almost six years ago. Pathetic.
I did a search and posted things related to your thread.

Measurebator? You seem to be extremely angry.
Get a Zen app or something like it. I'm sure they have one. Lol

Or watch a movie on your zxplayer or whatever it's called.. :D

No it's just fine. The date of the threads do not matter, what matters is the substance, apple tried to sweep things under the rug when in fact, there were problems.

Actually, none of those threads, is anywhere close to Apple trying to hide a potentially fatal problem.

From an article earlier this year: Apple MacBook battery: Exploded
"Like a significant number of Apple MacBook owners, I didn't expect my battery to burst. I discovered that Apple considers this hazardous occurrence "expected behavior."

and: Best Buy Is Recalling Thousands of MacBook Pro Batteries Over Fire Risk -> http://gizmodo.com/best-buy-is-recalling-thousands-of-macbook-pro-batterie-514405760

I find every company makes routine decisions of cost of stepping up and fixing things vs marketing impact. I have no doubts there are a few with my Samsung phone which are known but quietly fixed in the next generation.
