He also got another MP endorsement for 40 MPs which is larger then the liberal cacus by 6 MPs.

Oh I finally got around to buying an NDP membership, cost me 5 bucks.

On another note the leadership convention was supposed to be at the allstream centre, but the NDP registeration has already blown past the Max occutpacy, so they had to move it to the Metro Toronto Convention Centre which has 40% higher occupancy.

Does anyone know how many people either building can fit?

I was surprised to see Alice Klein from NOW endorsing Nathan Cullen. Interesting reasoning.

Nathan Cullen is the 39-year-old come-from-behind candidate who is turning heads with his skilled communication and charisma. He’s the breath of fresh air the party and the country need.

Here’s one bold idea he brings to the table. “In Conservative-held ridings, before the next election I would allow local constituencies – New Democrats – to hold joint nomination meetings with Liberals and Greens. They would select a candidate under one of those banners who would take on the Conservative. And win. And then form a progressive government.”

Wow. That may not be rocket science, but it is strikingly good election math. Cullen is one brave politician.

“You’re supposed to say, ‘We’re great, we’re perfect. And the country’s going to realize that and we’ll be the government,’ right?” he tells me. “People would like to believe it’s just been a misunderstanding. That’s why we haven’t been government yet.

“For more than 50 years my party has asked Canadians to think differently about things. It’s time we asked ourselves that same question.”

Doesn't surpise surpise me, Alice Klien has always been a liberal apologist on a other dipper leaning paper, so she'd be naturally be attracted to Cullen's three way alliance with the greens and liberals.

Now if her sister, Noami Klien had endorsed Cullen that'd be different, that would shock me.

In other news, Romeo Saganash is being said to be dropping out of the leadership race tomorrow because of family illness sadly.

Romeo Saganash is a great man, his achievements on the international stage, on constitutional issues, on behalf of the Cree, and the enviroment is incredible, and it has been an honour to have him run for the leadership of the party. I wish his loved one all the health.

Saganash was my number 3 choice. His presence will be missed and he was rock as a future Minister.

My list now:

Mulcair
Ashton (may put her first on the ballet to give her a boost)
Nash
Cullen
Top
Singh
Dewar

I want Peggy Nash to win. It will be nice to see that bitch thrown under the bus.

+1. He seemed nervous in debate format though. :(

My list now:

Nash
Cullen

Singh
Dewar
Me:
Mulcair
Dewar (That damn bad French though...)
Top
Nash (Like Nash and Ashton more than Top but I fear another female federal NDP leader until Horwath gets at least Official Opposition in Ontario.)
Ashton
Cullen (I like him as #2, but the merger talk was a bad gambit.)
Singh

I really wish one of Martin / Comartin / Angus would have threw their hats in...

Nobody voting for that 19 year ols kid from Sherbrooke? I'm shocked.

Mulclair will alienate the Ontario base and when Quebec goes back to their traditional voting pattern the NDP will be decimated.
