What would one expect from the birthplace of Igor Ivanovich Sikorsky

A fantastic example of the frames per-second phenomenon, frequently seen in videos of aircraft propellers, and computer and television screens. However, I've never before seen one showing a flying helicopter.

The frame rate of the camera combined with the counter rotating fans gives the illusion of a single set of not moving fans.

what's fantastic is that the engines' rpm stays steady during the whole show (or a multiple of 25 or 30 I guess).

Helicopter rotors generally stay constant rotation speed always. Speed and lift of the craft is usually controlled by tilting the rotor plane or the blade angles of attack.

right!
Thanks :)

Although I thought you had to adjust the rpm when pulling the thing that makes the rotor tilt...
Maybe with such engines they don't need it...?
