Russia bans showing of movie "Child 44"

Russia has banned the film Child 44.

Set in 1952 it is about a Militsiya Colonel attempting to surmount the bureaucratic and party obstacles placed in his way to find a serial killer of children.

Yes, I just read about this in my daily perusal of the Russian / Ukrainian news sources.

The movie is highly critical of Stalin and references the holodymyr and other very, very nasty aspects of that era in Eastern Europe. The chances of it ever being shown in Putin's Russia are less than zero.

You may as well attempt to show a musical comedy about Mohammad as a tap-dancing urinal in Iran.
