Rush are exploding, they have become the prime example of Joni Mitchell's Big Yellow Taxi: Don't it always seems to go, that you don't know you've got till it's gone.

There seems to be a new Rush video on YT almost every week and they are omnipresent on Sirius/XM.

Someone mentioned to me that Rush would have sounded with Rick Emmett instead of Alex Lifeson...no they wouldn't. If Emmett were a Rush member, the band would have broken up after four albums, Lifeson is the glue that holds the band together.

The Lifeson effect.

This song escaped the Classic Album review, a song I adore. Neil's hypnotic woodblocks! Not many bands can achieve the syncopation of Lee/Peart in the re-entrance from the woodblocks. It sounds deceptively simple.

No way Rik Emmett would have tolerated the emphasis on keyboards RUSH experienced in the 1980's the way Alex Lifeson did.

Unlike Rick Beato, Adam Reader (The Professor of Rock) is not from a Great Lakes town - he's from Idaho.

And yet he's obsessed with Rush, devoting six separate features to them.

For me, the first four albums are their best ones.

Not crazy about the stuff after Hemispheres. Can tolerate Limelight and YYZ though.
Tom Sawyer bugged me when I first heard it. I guess the song(especially the drumming)can grow on you especially after years of Can Con 30% Canadian radio play enforcement.

Fell in love with the band the moment I heard Red Sector A, next day went to A&A Records and grabbed my copy of Grace Under Pressure and just recently completed my own Rush Theme Arcade Box. Agree with @Radar1956 - Geddy's book is brilliant. Now go get a drummer and release more music boys - you know you still have it in you.

For those who care, disregard the Kiss seat, as my Rush one has been ordered  .

KISS opened the American market to Rush, this was when John Rutsey was still with the band. Paul Stanley tells a humorous story of how he got Rush laid. Neil Peart always was a fan of Peter Criss.
