I've been to Honduras once, but not to Roatan. I've heard it's quite beautiful. If you go anywhere aside from a resort, be prepared....Honduras is quite a poor country, I think the poorest in the Western Hemisphere after Haiti. I stayed at a very nice resort in Puerto Cortes with a woman I met online & the rest of the time I stayed at her house in San Pedro Sula. I hope you have some Spanish if you're not staying at a resort on Roatan, few people speak English outside of the touristy areas. Don't be shocked if you see guards with automatic rifles around banks and some large stores or gas stations even, it's quite normal.
