RMT's how are they paid??

Hello all,
Hopefully somebody out there may have some knowledge of this.
A friend of mine is looking to open up a highend urban spa(legit) and we are trying to do some research..
Does anyone know how the attendants usually get paid..
I wouldnt think that they are on salary...
Do they get a cut of the Spas fee plus tips...or is it $$ for their room and they keep all???
Any insight would be much apreciated.

Hi Rolo,

I had a legit massage a week ago and asked the masseuse that exact question. She rents a room from the Chiropractor who owns the clinic. She then keeps any extra above and beyond her rent. She only gets paid once a month though... She is also rsponsible for everything she needs inside that room (i.e. massage tale, lighting, music, oils, etc...)

Makes sense for that set up in a clinic-how bout a spa where it would need to have attendants during working hours??
